The Dilley City Council, saying Monday that it lacked confidence in Police Chief Armando Romo, voted 3-2 to terminate him for insubordination.
Romo was hired in October 2006 after the small Frio County town experienced a rash of burglaries. He and Sgt. Johnny Vasquez resigned last month over problems with the council, but they subsequently withdrew their resignations, hopeful that their differences could be resolved.
